Muslims also believe in the angels and in the concept of predestination, which states that Allah has already determined the fate of all individuals.  Islam is a religion of peace, and Muslims are expected to promote peace and justice in the world. However, some extremist groups have committed acts of violence in the name of Islam. It is important to understand that these groups do not represent the vast majority of Muslims, who reject violence and extremism.  Islam has had a significant impact on the world, both historically and in the present day. Islamic civilization was a major force in the world during the Middle Ages, making significant contributions to fields such as mathematics, science, and philosophy.
